Against the advice of the folks at Google, we put up a medical thesaurus with over 166,000 pages (they say to limit the number of new pages to about 10,000) – and things went really well. The pages got indexed and we’ve started seeing an uptick in traffic.

After finding someone with a wordpress.com ripping off the content of this blog, I alerted WordPress and it wasn’t just that they took down the offending content – the whole blog went dead.

I managed to botch the launching of over 166,000 pages, and GoogleBot just dealt with it…

We’re embarking on a rather challenging test today – adding 166,000+ pages to slicksurface.com when it only has 185 pages currently. Google says we shouldn’t do it, but we’re doing it anyway…
